Why Is Romspen Flushing $3 Million Of Investor’s Money Down A Toilet To Bully And Harass A Blogger.

Romspen executives are infamous for lying and hiding information from their investors. So, it’s safe to assume investors are in the dark about how Romspen flushing $3 million down a toilet.

When investors find out what they are wasting money on, we bet they won’t be happy. So,what are they wasting investor money on?

In June 2023, they filed a ridiculously frivolous $7 million defamation lawsuit against Miami blogger named Steve Dibert.

They also sued his various MFI-Miami companies. Two of these companies had nothing to do with the website and are now defunct. Yet, another example of Romspen flushing money down the drain.

The lawsuit stems from a handful of article Dibert wrote on his MFI-Miami.com website. The articles questioned the sanity and decision making by Romspen’s underwriting personel. Namely, Romspen executive Wesley Roitman.

The whole purpose of the lawsuit was nothing more than to bully and harass Dibert. Romspen’s other goal was to also make Dibert waste money on lawyers to answer the frivolous suit. A smart and legitimate lawyer would have told Romspen to ignore it and that there was no case.

Unfortunately, that’s not how big law firms like Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP (BCLP) work. BCLP saw Wesley Roitman and other Romspen executives as a gullible cash cow for billable hours. So, BCLP whored out their lawyers to Romspen to file a frivolous lawsuit.

Romspen’s cost for this frivolous lawsuit after 2 1/2 years of litigation has ballooned to almost $3 million (C$4.1 million). However, we’ll get to that later.

It All Began On A Cold November Morning in 2022

It all began a cold snowy November mornings in 2022 that it could have inspired an Anne Murray song. However, inside Romspen’s Toronto office the day it was a different vibe. The day started with hordes of angry investors calling and emailing Romspen employees about what they were reading online. Predictably, pandemonium soon erupted and all hell broke loose.

Witnesses say Romspen Managers Blake Cassidy and Peter Oelbaum taking turns sounding a klaxon in the office. Meanwhile, witnesses say Wesley Roitman ran around the office repeatedly screaming as banshee yelling, “CODE RED! CODE RED! THIS IS NOT A DRILL! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!”

A frenzied Romspen staff immediately went into a conference room to strategize damage control campaign. Romspen’s first response was to tell their pissd off investors that the articles was they were fabrications and lies. However, the information in the articles were based on Romsen’s own court filings and other public documents filed by Romspen.

Basically, Dibert called out Romspen for the their shady underwriting practices. So as a result, they sued Dibert to cover up the fact they defrauded their investors.

Romspen Calls In Psycho Attorney Christian Poland

In 2022, Romspen called in BCLP to help them with their Dibert problem. So, BCLP whored out one of their partners named Christian Poland to begin harassing Dibert. If you are a regular reader you know who Christian Poland is. He is the Luciferian lawyer with the deformed Elephant Man shaped forehead. Poland’s deformity and odd behavior isn’t really his fault. He suffers from hydrocephalus.

Romspen filed their frivolous lawsuit in June 2023. Poland knew he couldn’t win on the merits of the arguments. Therefore, he began a campaign of abusive motion practice and harassment (you can read about that below).

He also likes to harass opposing counsel with late night nonsensical and angry email bombs. Is this behavior the result of Poland slamming back about half dozen after dinner gin and tonics? Or, is it a mental health issue brought on by his hydrocephalus? Who knows but as they say in the south, “That boy ain’t right in the right in the head!”

Poland’s abusive behavior lead to multiple bar complaints, motion denials and and getting spanked by three different federal judges.

Is Romspen Flushing Money Down A Toilet Or Is BCLP Milking Fees From Romspen?

Since litigation began Dibert and his previous attorneys have tried multiple times get Christian Poland to listen to the fact that Dibert is essentially judgment proof and if Romspen does get a judgment it won’t be worth the paper it’s written on for these main reasons:

Dibert has not lived in Florida since January 2023.
He moved to Colombia 2 weeks before the lawsuit was filed.
An Asian company owns the MFI-Miami.com website and has owned it since before litigation began.
Dibert does not have any assets in the U.S.

As Dibert wrote in his September 2, 2025 email to Romspen executive Wesley Roitman and Joel Mikkelson, “The MFI-Miami website will still be active. The articles will still be up for the world to see. Why? Well, it’s pretty obvious. The US courts don’t have jurisdiction over the website and I no longer live in the U.S.”

Christian Poland has known all of this since October 2023, Yet, he developed an homo-erotic obsession with Dibert. Facts didn’t matter. He lost his objectivity. He has wasted almost $3 million (C$4.1 million) of Romspen’s money on this frivolous and and unwinnable lawsuit. Matter of fact, in the past 4 months. $2 million of this money has been sent in the past six months. Poland has doubled down and brought in 4 new BCLP lawyers. Romspen now has 8 lawyers from BCLP actively working on this case. Yes, eight lawyers against a pro-se litigant. Hmmm….

So, Why Is Romspen Flushing Money Down A Toilet?

RomspenReport editors have spoken to several seasoned and experienced litigators. These guys have been practicing law since ther 1980s and they have seen it all. The consensus of the elder litigators is that there is one of two things going here.

Theory #1

They suspect BCLP sees Romspen executives as a bunch of easy saps with fragile egos. Believe it or not, Most people in the finance world are like this. So, BCLP lawyers tell Romspen whatever they want to hear so they can keep milking billable hours.

BCLP needs the cash. The firm’s revenue has continually shrunk since Bryan Cave merged with British law firm Leighton Paisner in 2018. So for their senior partners can continue to live the life of a French monarch, BCLP has had to lay off low level lawyers and staff. BCLP also cut 47 professionals in May 2023 and about 50 employees in March 2024.

BCLP leadership decided to stick to clients like Romspen who have more money than common sense.

Theory #2

There is another theory. However, it unlikely to fly. These elder lawyers believe Romspen executives are using Dibert as an excuse for being unable to pay their investors when Romspen eventually files bankruptcy. However, it is unlikely an Canadian Bankruptcy Court will believe it.

The theory goes that Romspen intends to claim that Dibert’s articles on the MFI-Miami website caused Romspen to lose massive money. However, Romspen’s own public statements to their investors contradict this.
